My most exciting ideas as I see them at this point in the class are being able to elaborate on how food has a deeper connection than people think it does. Food can have a deeper meaning for someone especially if it’s a home-cooked meal. Food can be a familiar thing that people love to be able to eat so that they feel more comfortable or welcomed in their environment. In the past, I used to think that there are things that I need to eat so I can be able to grow but now I realized that food is something that is a part of cultures and a great pleasure for people.

The graphic novel format aided my development of the idea of food being a cultural thing. This was proven by hoping to draw it out and make it relatable for people to read. This is a way of making my claim in an artistic sense that other people can view for their pleasure.

A time when we had a class discussion that deepened my ideas of how food can relate to Identity is when we shared our food blogs and elaborated on how other published food blogs were different from ours. We talked about how we could improve our food from the examples that we were searching for by ourselves or with partners. These methods were a way for us as a class to determine if we like any other ideas or structures from other food blogs.

  1. I like how you mentioned that your ideas changed about food because many people thought the same way, including me that "you just eat to grow". You noticed what it really means to you. - Josue Lantigua

  2. I like your blog and I like the insight you have provided on how this class has affected you. Although the picture on your blog is posted upside down. I find the story humorous. -Totemi Adeyinka

  3. I enjoyed your reflection because you walked us through your thought process, and how your ideas have developed and grown. I feel like this way of attacking the reflection is unique. The way you included our class discussions was also nice because you talked about how looking at outside blogs was a source of inspiration for you. The only thing I would say is that the picture of your actual graphic novel is flipped upside down (this could just be my screen) - Bless
