Interview

Food is the inquiry for my class and I interviewed my friend Lucy to get their opinion on what they thought about food and how it relates to identity.

The first thing they said was, “That's interesting how you are thinking about food as it relates to culture.” With this statement, it is proven how food relating to culture needs to be talked about more. Food is something people just think is only made for eating. People think food is just consumed and don’t have much thought put into it and, which is so far from the truth. Food is way more than what people frame it to be. It’s a culture and it has a lot of history to it. Food has been created and made differently by many people with different ways of seeing the recipes.

They also said, “That's different from what my class is doing.” This inquiry isn’t something that is normally talked about or even studied but when it is it’s amazing to look at and further understand. It’s not easily understood but it is definitely an interesting topic. It's unique.

The third thing they said was “It's kind of cool how different people have different views on food.” People have different perspectives and preferences on how food should and shouldn’t look or taste. A good dish is different for everyone viewing it or eating it for the first time. The versatile ways of creating different foods are something that isn’t found all the time.
